Therapy Workshops

Workshops are offered at Creative Counseling Center several times a year. Please complete the form below for information on dates and times.

Positive Self-Concept Workshops
Self-compassion is LEARNED, not innate in us. Women and men are socialized to take care of their significant other, and often forget about themselves. This becomes codependency and those affected need support to learn to care for themselves again. This “codependency recovery group” is a safe space to learn to love one’s self again and prioritize one’s own needs.
Art Therapy Workshops
Art therapy workshops are offered with Art Therapist Marcy Purdy. Art Therapy offers an opportunity to explore personal problems and potentials through verbal and nonverbal expression. The use of art as therapy allows for the reconciliation of emotional conflicts and in a fostering of self-awareness and personal growth. Through observation and analysis of art behavior, art products and client communication, the Art Therapist formulates diagnostic assessments and treatment plans as a part of a total therapy program.

I have been living and practicing Art Therapy in Vero Beach Florida for the last 25 years. I have a rich professional career. As Owner of ArtReach, I conduct both private and group workshops with Art Therapy. I am an artist, therapist, educator and qi gong instructor.

I am a Board-Certified Art Therapist, Educational Administrator, Certified Qigong Instructor and Artist with 36 years of experience in the mental health field. I have worked in the Indian River County school system and psychiatric hospitals; as well as with crime victims through the 19th Judicial Circuit State Attorney and Indian River County Sheriff’s offices.

Through guided experiences, using a variety of art materials, children/adolescents/and adults are led in a process of integration and resolution of conflict; enrichment of inner their inner life, and allow the healing of their emotions and their spirit. While utilizing ones hands in their creative process clients explore self awareness.
